Winters Whimsies are the joint creations of Marita Winters and her sister Barb Gerde.  Marita sculpts the baby dolls and Barb costumes them.

 

Marita was formally trained in commercial art. She worked as a freelance designer and artist for over two decades, eventually co-founding Winters Illustration & Design with her husband Monty.  Marita has returned to her early love of sculpting, concentrating on the realistic portrayal of tiny babies.

 

  Barb Gerde has joined Marita in her doll-making venture. She is a talented seamstress with many awards to her name for her quilts and designs. She worked for a theatre as a designer and seamstress for several years, designing costumes for plays. Now she will be using these artistic talents in creating designer baby doll clothing to dress my babies, and more to share with other doll makers.
